Site Under Construction (Target for launch February 2005)

The Ohio Archaeology documentary series is in post-production for release to Ohio's public television stations and schools (OET) in the winter of 2005. Over the past three years, Voyageur's production team has been traveling throughout the state, conducting interviews, shooting seasonal landscapes and documenting archaeological excavations, laboratory research, artifacts and archival materials.

Thanks to strong support from dozens of scholars and institutions, we are now editing the final program for internal reviews. Our target for distribution is February 2005. Ohio Archaeology is taking shape as a mini-series with three, one-hour episodes. Each episode will cover two archaeological periods. The final episode will close with an epilogue introducing contemporary cultural and scientific issues facing modern archaeology in Ohio.

Here are working episode titles and periods:

#101
"The First Ohioans" (Paleo and Archaic periods)

#102
"Architects of Earth and Sky" (Early Woodland and Middle Woodland periods)

#103
"The Rise of Villages" (Late woodland and Late Prehistoric periods)

#104
"Legacis" (Epilogue)
