Site Under Construction (Target for launch February 2005)
  The Ohio Archaeology project's educational website is under construction for launch in conjunction with the release of the Ohio Archaeology documentary series in the winter of 2005.

This educational section will serve as a resource for educators. The content is designed to complement the newly revised Academic Content Standards of the Ohio Department of Education in social studies and science. Educators will find related images, toolkits, maps, resource lists and lesson plans they may use in the classroom, for independent student study and to prepare for field trips to local sites and museums. The "Ancient Ohio" art series, already installed on this website, is now available for educational use.

Our initial educational focus will be 4th grade Social Studies (Ohio History), and 6th grade Social Studies (Global Prehistory). Pending further funding, we hope to create educational resources in other subjects related to archaeology, including science, mathematics, art, music and the language arts.

Voyageur's production team is working with numerous educators, curriculum specialists and project advisors on the content for this educational website. Our educational advisors include:

all project advisors and participants;

Ohio Archaeology Education Director, Linda Logan, Administrator, Ohio Council for the Social Studies;

Linda Whitman, Chairperson, Education Committee, Ohio Archaeological Council;

Amy Linn, Information & Education Coordinator, Ohio Educational Telecommunications (OET);

and William Muthig, Curriculum Specialist, The Ohio Department of Education;
