Spaces of Greater Cincinnati reveals the architecture and art preserved in the
area's churches, temples and mosques. This one-hour documentary combines expert
commentary with High Definition video. archival and a beautiful soundtrack for
an introductory look at changes in sacred architecture from the prehistoric period
through the 1800s to the present. Sacred Spaces is a collaborative effort among
Voyageur Media Group, Inc., CET and dozens of regional scholars, clergy and participating
organizations.
Sacred Spaces presents the full spectrum and intricate details
found in the upper reaches of these grand religious spaces, many constructed during
the 1800s. The documentary features a diversity of sacred spaces, including such
historic and modern landmarks as Plum Street Temple, St. Peter In Chains Cathedral,
Covenant-First Presbyterian Church, Christ Episcopal Cathedral, Old St. Mary's
Church, Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and The Islamic Center of Greater
Cincinnati.
Walter E. Langsam, Daniel Hurley, Paul Tenkotte, Beth Sullebarger
and other experts and clergy tell the fascinating story behind the architectural
design of each building and its place in the broader context of Greater Cincinnati
history. Voyageur and CET hope to produce additional episodes for a documentary
series covering the art and architecture of many other sacred spaces in Greater
Cincinnati.
